KY Registered Agent.org is in the same business as LegalZoom in exactly one respect, and it is the respect this page argues about: we will accept service of process at a Kentucky address for your company, and we charge $99 a year to do it. The Name Carries Weight, and That Is Not Nothing

LegalZoom is the most recognized brand in consumer legal services in the United States, and recognition has real value. An owner who has never bought this kind of service before knows the name, can find reviews of it going back twenty years, and does not have to wonder whether the company will still exist in five. If paying a premium to skip that entire category of worry sounds reasonable to you, that is a defensible way to spend money and we are not going to sneer at it.

$249, Auto-Renewing, With Nothing Trimmed Off the First Year

Registered agent service from LegalZoom is priced at $249 per year. It renews automatically. Our review turned up no introductory discount, no bundled first year, and no lower tier of the same service, which means the number you see is the number you pay in year one and every year after.

Set that against what the role actually consists of in Kentucky. A qualifying agent keeps a physical street address in the Commonwealth, is reachable there during ordinary business hours, takes delivery of lawsuits and state correspondence, and passes them to you. Kentucky writes that description once and applies it to every provider. The statute has no premium tier.

A hundred and fifty dollars a year, seven hundred and fifty across five years, for a statutory duty performed to one standard regardless of who bills for it.

The Compliance Promise Kentucky Quietly Limits

National providers like to fold agent service into a broader compliance pitch, and in Kentucky one line of that pitch needs a footnote. The annual report here is a pre-populated, postcard-style confirmation of what the state already has on file. It costs $15, the filing window runs January 1 through June 30 every year, and an online submission processes on the spot.

What that report cannot do is change your registered agent. It only confirms the agent already on record. A real change requires the separate RAC statement and its own $10 fee, and the same is true of a principal office change on form POC. So a vendor handling your Kentucky annual report has not handled, and cannot handle, your agent switch inside that filing. They are two different documents in this state no matter who prepares them.

The deadline behind the report is worth respecting for its own reasons. Miss June 30 and July 1 puts the entity in bad standing. A 60-Day Notice goes out by post, and if the report has still not arrived around the end of August, KRS 14A.6-010 leaves the Secretary of State to dissolve the company administratively. We send a reminder well ahead of that window closing, and the reminder is part of the $99 rather than an upgrade.
