The platform behind it is also a real thing. Document templates, attorney consultations, and a library of business forms are genuine tools, and businesses that use them get value from the subscription that would be hard to assemble any other way.

The Question Is Whether You Wanted the Platform

Which is exactly where the decision sits. The agent appointment is not a standalone purchase in the Rocket Lawyer model. It arrives attached to a broader legal service, and your $125 buys access to that whole apparatus whether or not you open it.

For an owner who drafts contracts monthly and calls an attorney twice a quarter, that is a bargain. For an owner who needs one thing, which is a name and a street address occupying the registered agent line on a Kentucky filing, a portion of every $125 is renting shelf space in software that stays closed.

Kentucky's requirement is narrow and it does not stretch. The filing is called the Statement of Change of Registered Agent and Office. Kentucky's form list identifies it by the letter code RAC, which is the complete designation. This state has never used numbered forms for business filings, so RAC is not an abbreviation of something longer and there is no numeric version to track down.

It asks for three things: your entity's exact legal name as the state has it, the name of the incoming agent, and the Kentucky address that agent will occupy as the registered office. The fee is $10, payable to the Kentucky Secretary of State.
